Calcutta Institute of Maxillofacial Surgery & Research was established in April 2008, designed for all oral, dental and dentofacial needs, offering state-of-the-art world-class care. Our premises reflect the tradition of establishing and continuing the golden relation between the patient and the doctor through Accountability, Excellence, Transparency and Care.

Maxillofacial surgical procedures are high-end expensive surgeries and there is an absence of a focused single speciality institute in this subject in the whole of North, North-East and Eastern India, Nepal, Bhutan and most of Bangladesh. Dr. Srijon Mukherji brought forward humble resources to present the first Maxillofacial Surgery and Training Institute for this vast geographic territory.

The target, alongside the provision of comprehensive management of all head and neck pathology, deformity and injuries, is to train a new generation of maxillofacial surgeons to offset the long-standing demand-supply difference. The economics is organized to change the concept that this is a rich man’s speciality and bring down the cost through transparent affordable packages.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is one of the newer specialities in the advancement of super speciality surgical sciences recognized to be the last of the nine disciplines of the Senate of Surgical Specialities of the Royal Colleges.

The head & neck region has traditionally been recognized as a complex territory of human anatomy. It presents to clinicians an array of diagnostic and surgical challenges due to structural, functional and cosmetic precision needs.Many specialities had tried over the years to meet the demands of this area. Advancing from a dentofacial background, the field of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery delved into a more precise customized training for comprehensive and holistic management of all diseases, deformities and dysfunctions in the spectrum of mouth, face, jaw & neck.Therefore, today, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery emerged as the one and only all-inclusive integrated service.

Dr. Srijon Mukherji is a prolific painter, holding exhibitions annually in Kolkata and out of state. The paintings are auctioned as a fundraiser to support and subsidise surgery for poor patients at this institute.
